All upper limb fractures and general trauma
It is sometimes possible to arrange orthopedic trauma cases privately at the Royal Surrey County Hospital, Guildford and then transfer to the Private Hospitals for recovery - phone 07766911663
Not all fractures need fixing - sometimes less is best and nature heals with a little help and rest.
Thousands of people experience pain from sports and exercise injuries each year.
Whilst it can seem ironic that you injure yourself doing the very activity you have chosen to get fit or stay fit (or even just for fun) remember:
All is not lost.
Often an assessment and/or investigation can put ones mind at rest.
Most of the time, a condition or injury can be diagnosed and a treatment plan can be formulated.
Occasionally, a surgical procedure needs to be considered.
Unfortunately ( but rarely), an injury can alter your future sports and exercise aspirations and levels, despite all treatment.
Sometimes, activity modification for that previously finely tuned biological machine (you!) is required so you can continue enjoying life.
Often, an awkward landing or an unexpected obstacle on a trail can lead to a crash - the upper limb is frequently injured.
The sports we love to play sometimes result in the odd prang. Although, for some kids, sometimes life can seem to be a permanent 'contact sport'!
Whether a finger gets caught in the reins or due to an unexpected fall or even if the horse or pony is spooked, riding can lead to upper limb injuries.
After any crash, best to get any injury properly checked out and treated properly from the start - especially if compensation is likely to be an issue.
Sometimes if you are injured away from home or abroad and have had initial treatment at another hospital, a second opinion can help clarify what has happened and what you need to do to recover.
Although everyone is now more conscious of health and safety at work, accidents still unfortunately happen.
